Tabbit — Automatic Tab Grouping
A Firefox add-on that groups new tabs with the tab that opened them. Configurable naming, group size limits, custom rules, and a blacklist.
Tabbit automatically groups new tabs with the tab that opened them. Click a link, and the new tab joins its opener in a group. No manual organizing, no dragging tabs around.
It supports two grouping modes, five naming conventions, and per-domain custom rules, so the grouping matches how you actually browse rather than forcing one behavior on everything.
Features
- Group by opening tab (default) or by matching domain
- Name groups by domain, subdomain, full hostname, page title, or leave them nameless
- Pretty names for clean, capitalized group titles
- Set a maximum number of tabs per group
- Auto-ungroup the last tab when a group shrinks to one
- Auto-collapse inactive groups when switching tabs
- Custom rules that assign a name and color to specific domains, ordered first-match-wins with subdomain matching
- Blacklist domains you never want grouped
- Every setting lives in the toolbar popup and saves instantly
